Family, friends...
Take a look at your house for a moment will you? Does it have a roof, sturdy walls, a door? Then please consider yourself privileged. I have friends in a community that’s thriving—La Cuchilla, Honduras. They now have clean water, the kids are going to school, there are jobs in the village for the men and women where they earn a much more sustainable wage than they would in jobs outside of the village. But my friends in La Cuchilla live in homes made of sticks and mud. The roofs leak. They don’t have doors. But H&H and I want to change that!
During the month of November, or now if you want to start early, join me in making small sacrifices that generate big change. This month, challenge yourself to go without something you frequently enjoy and instead contribute the money toward a house for one of my friends and their family. You could opt to skip your morning coffee and make coffee at home. You could opt to skip your lunches out and eat PBJ like we do on our work days. You can do one thing all month long or switch it up each week or even each time! Then when you opt out of something, post what you’re giving up! It could inspire someone else’s giving! These people mean so much to me and it’d mean the world if you helped me contribute to one of them getting a home that they would own!
