As you gather around the table with friends and family later this week, we encourage you to share the story of La Cuchilla with the people you love. Just 18 months ago, La Cuchilla was known as the “abandoned hole”. Today, they have transformed their community and created new opportunities -- sending their kids to school, accessing clean water, and creating jobs. But one thing is still missing: a safe place to live.
This holiday season, consider giving the gift of a safe home for people like Angelica Zavala and her son Edin. Angelica is a single mother of one who has lived in La Cuchilla for her whole life. “I’ve lived here for 25 years and I don’t have words to express what [a home] would mean to me. A blessing! Me and Edin would be safer and more comfortable.”
