Since partnering with Humanity and Hope, the people of La Cuchilla now have jobs, clean water, and a brand new school. However, their homes are still made of bamboo, sticks, mud. The houses in La Cuchilla crumbling and not sustainable long term. Humanity and Hope is fundraising to build 30 homes in order continue their work inspiring sustainable change.
When I visited La Cuchilla, I was able to meet with a woman and talk about her current situation. She had a beautiful home made by her family and worked creatively to reuse materials to meet their needs. Unfortunately, the mud of the house attracted a lot of snakes and it became especially dangerous for herself and her kids in the pitch black of night to go outside and use the restroom.
Because it is my 26th birthday February 28th, I will be starting my fundraiser off by donating $260. Please don't feel obligated to donate but know that if you do, it is going to an organization that takes lasting change and educating the people for independent living.
