Honduras is Undergoing a Crisis
Corruption. Political unrest. Poverty. COVID-19. Natural Disasters.
In 2020, Honduras experienced back-to-back hurricanes, devastating the country beyond the COVID-19 pandemic and skyrocketing unemployment to 91 percent. Honduras holds a 66% poverty rate and one in every five Hondurans live below the poverty line on around $1.90 per day.
Even before this in 2019, because of the preexisting vulnerabilities of extreme poverty and hostile political climate, 800,000 Hondurans immigrated to the U.S. –– that’s nearly 10% of the entire country… and that percentage continues to grow.
Job opportunities are scarce, and many people don’t have access to clean water, healthcare, or enough food. Now they are not just migrating North, they are fleeing their country.
This is not political... This is a crisis.
With your help, Humanity and Hope United is launching Fuerza Honduras, an operation to expand our recent efforts to empower and employ 100 Hondurans in the communities we partner with to serve and provide 10,000 vulnerable Honduran families at risk of leaving their country with basic resources, including clean water, food, healthcare, and community through intentional relationships.
To partner with us in our mission of helping families climb from survival to sustainability and then to generosity, we are asking you to give $55 ($330) to provide jobs and resources for struggling Honduran families.
