Let's Power the Change by bringing electricity to our partner community, Caballo de Piedra.
This October 11, 2023, please join our flash campaign as we Power The Change in Caballo de Piedra. Together, we can build hope and change the lives of this entire community by bringing electricity to them for the very first time.
For most of us, electricity is something we just expect. But Caballo de Piedra has never had the life-changing blessing of electricity in their community. Can you imagine? All your evenings go dark at 6pm. All your meals contain nothing that requires a refrigerator. You cook over a smokey fire that makes you or someone in your family sick. Every day your hot classroom at school is without the breeze of even one fan. Not even one job or business in your community uses electricity. Try to picture it, a life without resources, a life without hope for a better future.
Because the H&H family has brought electricity to two other communities in Honduras, we know that electricity for Caballo de Piedra will not only improve the quality of life in this remote mountain community, but will multiply opportunities in the community! We can help them create jobs and businesses. Students can have access to the internet, and study in the evenings. Families can charge their phones and connect with the rest of the world. And the list goes on, including:
- A water pump for clean, running water
- Lights at home so children don't have to stop studying when the sun sets at 6pm
- Refrigerators to store food and medicine
- A learning center with computers and internet access
- Fans in the school and at home
- Equipment to start a chicken businesses and a bakery
- Ability to charge cell phones so students can talk with their parents and people can connect with the outside world
- The ability to iron their clothes
- Sound for their church services
- Power tools for more efficient work
- Microwaves and other kitchen resources
- An improved esteem for the community
So how do we Power the Change? Generous hearts build hope and hope is the fuel for true sustainable transformation!
Here's how your generous heart can build hope:
- On Wednesday (10/11/23), donate $20 to provide electricity for the 20 families who live in Caballo de Piedra! Our goal is to raise $84,000!
- Invite 5-10 people to join you in donating $20 to this movement.
- Share with your circle of influence on social media using our Social Media Toolkit. Create your own posts or repost everything we post!
